Will Smith, an American actor, is making headlines after he slapped Chris Rock onstage at the Oscars 2022 for cracking a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith and also won an Oscar for Best Actor and fans are curious to know Chris Rock’s response.

The King Richard star, Will Smith, was named as the night’s Best Actor winner while fans were still absorbing an incident in which Will Smith stormed onstage at the Oscars and slapped Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

An emotional experience with tears in his eyes, Smith walked the stage and apologized to the Academy and many others, but not to Rock. Smith drew parallels between himself and the character he was portraying onscreen, Richard Williams, father of Serena and Venus.

The Smiths and Rock have previously feuded over the Oscars. In 2016, during his opening monologue, Rock poked fun at Pinkett Smith, who had boycotted the show due to a lack of diversity among the acting nominations.

Chris Rock was on stage at the 2022 Academy Awards to give the award for the best documentary when he cracked a joke that Will Smith did not appreciate. Will rushed to the stage after a little while and slapped the comedian across the face before returning to his seat.

“Oh, wow,” Rock replied. The verbal portion of the altercation between Rock and Smith was muffled for home viewers. “That was the greatest night in television history,” Rock declared as the theater fell silent.
