The death news of Oksana Shvets, a highly acclaimed Ukrainian stage actress, has saddened internet users after she was killed in a Russian rocket attack on a residential building in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said that at least 12 people have been murdered, and 34 others have been injured in at least 43 attacks on healthcare facilities in Ukraine as the Russia-Ukraine conflict continues.

The number of civilians killed in Ukraine is rising as Russia intensifies its shelling of major cities, including the capital, Kyiv. Shvets is the latest in a long line of public people who have died as a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Two Fox News journalists, camera operator and war journalist Pierre Zakrzewski and Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra Kuvshynova, were slain when their vehicle was struck by the incoming fire while reporting outside of Kyiv earlier this week.

Oksana Shvets, an honored Ukrainian actress, died in the Russian shelling of a residential building in Kyiv on March 17, 2022. On March 17, her ensemble, the Young Theater, confirmed her death on Facebook.

According to Variety’s translation of the Ukrainian post, the organization said, “Irreparable pain in the family of Young Theater. A wonderful memory of the amazing actress. The enemy that has invaded our land will not be pardoned.”

Oksana had been a troupe member since 1980. Her death was also reported by the Kyiv Post on Twitter.
