Noreika started her career as a news anchor at WOAY-TV, two weeks before graduating college at Ohio University. She took her first television job in Oak Hill, WV as a weekend “weather person” and reporter throughout the week. She learned so much about shooting, editing and producing there that helped her understand the entire process of putting together a newscast.
She subsequently relocated north, accepting a position at WCHS/WVAH in Charleston. She worked her way up the ladder for over 8 years, and eventually became the primary evening anchor. She covered several stories she’ll never forget, the most significant being the UBB mining catastrophe, in which 29 courageous individuals sacrificed their lives. She’ll never forget what happened to her.
