Hideki turned professional in April 2013 and won his second tournament on the Japan Golf Tour, the 2013 Tsuruya Open. Matsuyama earned his third Japan Golf Tour win at the Diamond Cup Golf Tournament five weeks later. Matsuyama joined the top 50 of the Official World Golf Ranking after finishing in the top 10 at the 2013 U.S. Open.
In September, he won the Fujisankei Classic, his fourth Japan Golf Tour tournament. In December, Matsuyama would win the Casio World Open for the seventh time on the Japan Golf Tour. Matsuyama became the first rookie to lead the Japan Tour’s money list with his victory.
