JaVale McGee born as JaVale Lindy McGee is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
He is a two time NBA champion; he won his titles while with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018 before signing with Lakers. It was announced in 3013 that he would be starring in his own reality show, Mom’s Got Game, with his mother. He earned his nickname”Tragic Bronson” after he was featured regularly on Inside the NBA’s basketball blooper feature Shaqtin a Fool.

He attended two high schools in Michigan, Detroit Country Day School and Providence Christian before he transferred to Hales Franciscan High School in Chicago. His coach at Hales Franciscan, Gary London, said that his position was small forward and he could play both forward spots.
He later attended the University of Nevada and he was the starting center. After his sophomore campaign, he averaged 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds, shooting 53% from the field and 33% from three-point range. He later decided to hire an agent and declare for the 2008 NBA draft.
