Kenneth ‘Zoo’ Petty, Nicki Minaj’s husband, has agreed to a plea agreement after failing to register as a sex offender in California.

According to People, Petty, 43, entered a guilty plea on Thursday, September 9, at a virtual session with the United States District Court for the Central District of California.

His sentence hearing is set for January 24, 2022, and he faces up to ten years in jail, followed by supervised release for the remainder of his life.

He was pulled over in Beverly Hills in November 2019, and officers discovered he was a registered sex offender in New York, despite he had not registered in California, as is required by law when transferring to a new state.

Petty was arrested in March 2020 for failing to register as a sex offender, an offense to which he pleaded not guilty and paid a $100,000 bond.

Petty and Minaj, both 38, were sued last month by his claimed rape victim, Jennifer Hough, 38, who accused the duo of pressuring him into recanting her rape accusation.

Petty was convicted in 1995 of first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl and sentenced to 18 to 54 months in jail. He served four years in jail and is classified as a level two registered offender in New York, indicating a’moderate risk’ of becoming a repeat offender.

Hough claims that when Minaj and Petty began dating in 2015, they both attempted to debunk her rape accusation.

Minaj and Hough apparently spoke over the phone, during which Minaj allegedly offered to have a publicist draft a statement in which she recanted her rape claim.

Following the conversation, Hough claims that someone connected to Minaj and Petty offered a member of her family $500,000 in exchange for her recanting her rape complaint.

According to the complaint, Minaj allegedly dispatched Hough’s childhood friend, identified as Black, to provide her legal advise on how to recant her statement and pay her $20,000.

‘Black took out a green-colored folder containing a paper. This was a written recanted statement that had been prepared for Plaintiff to sign. ‘Black then removes a $20,000 bill from the armrest and lays it on the Plaintiff’s lap,’ according to the lawsuit.

‘Plaintiff grabbed the money from her lap and tossed it on the floor. Plaintiff did not believe Defendant Minaj would go to such far to bribe her,’ the claim continues.,
