Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Man Utd. He is not playing as regularly as he would like and he is not even playing in the Champions League, his two greatest aspirations. But this is not the headline, as he has felt like this for several months.
What is, however, is his manager’s opinion. According to information revealed by ‘The Telegraph’, Erik ten Hag has reportedly changed his mind on the Portuguese, who he has opened the exit door to.
In summer, Jorge Mendes offered his player to a good amount of teams who have qualified for the Champions League. However, his departure was not completed largely due to Ten Hag’s refusal. In fact, he ended up highlighting in the press conference his interest in counting on the 37 year-old striker.
However, stats have made his comments less credible. The number 7 has played just 378 minutes so far this season. He has made eight appearances, starting only three of them. His very poor stats are also shown in the number of goals he has scored as he has scored just once, a penalty against Sheriff in the Europa League.
Now, the big problem, as well as his age, is his large salary. Cristiano earns around 30 million euros net per season, so he will have to reduce his earnings in order to find a new destination. His contract expires on 30th June 2023, although before that, he has something else on his mind: the World Cup in Qatar.
