Madeleine Brand is an American broadcast journalist, radio personality, and television host who currently works as a host of Press Play, a news and culture show that airs on KCRW-FM, a National Public Radio based in Los Angeles.

She made a debut on the show in January 2014 soon after it was launched and has been a member of the station’s crew ever since. Brand worked for NPR for thirteen years, reporting and anchoring at stations around the country, including KQED in San Francisco, WBUR in Boston, WBGO in Newark, and WBFO in Buffalo.
Thereafter, Brand worked for Morning Edition and All Things Considered as a West Coast correspondent and occasional substitute anchor. She began co-hosting the radio show Day to Day with Alex Chadwick in 2006, which was broadcast from NPR West’s Los Angeles facilities.

In the summer of 2013, Brand filled in for longtime broadcaster Warren Olney IV on KPCC’s rival KCRW’s show To the Point. Brand joined KCRW in September 2013 and began developing Press Play, which premiered in January 2014 and was the station’s first new daily show since 2001.
