Morgan Pressel Golfer Wikipedia
As a 12-year-old, she was the youngest player to qualify for the US Women’s Open in 2001. This record was held until 2007 when Lexi Thompson broke it by several months.
She was one of three co-leaders starting the final round of the 2005 U.S. Women’s Open at Cherry Hills in suburban Denver at the age of 17. Birdie Kim holed out from the bunker just ahead of Pressel on the 18th fairway to take a one-stroke lead. Pressel then needed a birdie to tie, but bogeyed the 18th and lost by two strokes.
In September 2005, Pressel finished sixth in the first stage of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament and advanced to the final stage in December. She became a professional in November after applying to the LPGA as a 17-year-old.
Pressel won her first LPGA tournament in 2007 at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, becoming the youngest-ever winner of a modern LPGA major at the age of 18 years, 313 days, a record that stood until Lydia Ko won the 2015 Evian Championship at the age of 18 years, 4 months, and 20 days. She rose from 17th to fourth in the world rankings as a result of her victory.
On July 15, 2007, at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio, Pressel hit her first hole-in-one as a professional golfer. It was a 148-yard (135-meter) par 3 – the tournament’s sixth hole. It wasn’t enough, however, as Se Ri Pak won the event for the fifth time.
Pressel finished second at the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic in San Francisco on April 26, 2015. Wasserman Media Group represents her and she has endorsement deals with brands such as Callaway Golf and Polo Ralph Lauren.
